Ben had his second test last night and passed the novice one and two levels.
Partners comes up in a few levels. He'll be much in demand because boy figure skaters are thin on the ground!

He's spent the last few nights laboriously drawing and coloring in a good-sized shield for himself.
I would have loved to have taken a photo of him holding it this morning but he's getting harder to photograph. He says 'you'll just put it on your bog'.
I love that he's also made a good handle at the back, and that it even takes on the real shield shape when he holds it.
I'll post this bag off to the birthday girl. It'll be a companion to one of the pink and green quilts. Same fabrics, same petals.
I'm planning to do some hand quilting to really stand out in pearly embroidery threads. And thinking of buttons too. I'm having a lot of fun planning this one.
And it appeals to my frugal, practical side too. The blocks were left over from the two quilt marathon, and the petals made from fabric that had already been chopped into little squares.
This shows the 3D petals. Time-consuming, but worth it. And I love the idea of using up all the scraps.
I pegged my quilt up on the line. It's blowing in the wind, but gives more of an overview. Now it's ready for the lovely machine quilter I go to - Fran.
