Ben's been learning to ride a unicycle. Here's a shot. He practiced for most of an hour while we waited for his brother to have a tennis lesson.

And off...

Such gorgeous fabrics - and looks like there's a pink, blue and yellow version, and they all fit well together.

This is my next project - something along these lines. It's so arresting, so colourful - and just rectangles and squares. How clever is that?

These roses are lovely old fashioned fragrant ones. And so vigorous, even with the drought and me never ever watering them (except the occasional grey water from the washing machine).
Love our hibiscus - I can see the bushes from my kitchen window, and look at them during winter - cold sticks greyish green. And if I haven't trimmed the stalks, I look at them from the window and think, another thing I have to do! But they more than make up for that come Spring, Summer and now early Autumn...
My garden is looking so fantastic at the moment. Chill has started to come in the air but in the backyard, the Japanese wind anenomes and the roses are blooming beautifully. Most of the flowers in the backyard are pink. The hibiscus are starting to go off, but still ok. Nice to have all three flowering at once, especially with our drought.

Our weekend at the coast (New South Wales)

The kids slept in this room, Ben slept in this bed, surrounded by bookshelves. When we were driving back, Ben suddenly burst into tears, he'd remembered that he'd left his DS under one of the pillows - so I had to arrange to get it posted back to us. I wonder whether he'd been playing games in bed instead of sleeping?

Our weekend away at the coast

On the weekend, we went to the coast, stayed near Jervis Bay, at a beautiful little cottage. It had a loft, full of old pictures and knick knacks. In fact the whole house was like this. Just gorgeous - quiet and relaxing, and so unexpected!
