High tea

Birthday

My husband whisked me away to a mystery place today to celebrate my birthday. It was a short drive into the country for high tea. I've never had high tea before. We started with a glass of champagne. Finished with a big pot of tea. It was just lovely. And my mother-in-law stayed home with the kids - thank you Maureen! The crackling fire was lovely.

Ice cream

Loved the flavours on offer at the markets a couple of days ago. Never heard of blue cheese, vanilla and candied orange ice cream before. But it was too cold, maybe another day.

Hands

Andrew cut out cardboard hands - his hands and his brother's hands. They're lying in the sun being activated.

Mum and dad arrive today

Mum and dad fly in today. They'll be here for two weeks.

The boys are on school holidays. Mum makes a quilt for each of the grandchildren when they're 22 and will work on one with Ben. Ben says his favourite colour is brown and his favourite thing is rocks. Looking forward to seeing how this quilt turns out!
