Quilt bug

I'm really enjoying Pinterest. I'm following a few avid quilters, and it's a great feeling when they post blocks and quilts that are just beautiful. It's a great way of feeling part of a community. It's nice to know that someone else gets it too - the quilt bug that overtakes us!

This is a block that I love - the quilter has really thought about it - I think the stripes add the impression of speed. It's a great start for a child's quilt.

Rock star

Andrew plays a rock star in his class play. This is Andrew complete with silver wig (he's supposed to be 30) and pinocchio nose last night.

Ice

Ben was in his first ice skating competition today. He's here with his coach.

He looks quite relieved that it's over.

Mop of hair

Ben's coach sorts out his hair before the presentation. It was only 8 degrees outside and he had a case of beanie hair.

Ben was the only person at his level competing today so he was number 1.

Today's quilting

Here's what I've been working in today. I bought this fabric through www.spoonflower.com the designer emailed me yesterday to ask whether I'd made anything and to ask to see any photos. I had a think about the design when I first woke up this morning and this is the start.

Andrew got rid of the last of the banksia rose today. He walked with it over the roof and dumped it in the side of the yard. It's a beast!

This is the third worksheet. Yesterday was maths and then punctuation. I do love the "guinne~pig" and rat pictures.

Ben has made a worksheet for me to fill in. This is going to test my maths skills. Fortunately I remember a conversation with him a week ago when he told me that 1x1 is 1!
