I went to the quilt shop last weekend and bought two kinds of navy dragonfly material.

I had a first attempt with my oranges but it was too scrappy even for me.
Then I put a call out on Instagram and @katequilts came back with the octagonal orb block which I was trying to recreate.
I loved the block so much that I've made two blocks this long weekend.
Here's a close up of the second block.
How pretty! Is there a pattern, or is this a "wing it" project?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's Octagonal Orbs - http://themodernquiltguild.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/octagonal-orb-quilt-block-tutorial.pdf
DeleteGlad that I put my first attempt up on Instagram and someone replied with the link. So now I'm doing what I was trying to do from memory!
